1. Will the renderings and furniture layouts be created using the exact floor plan, room measurements, and architectural features?
Furniture layouts will be created using the provided floor plans, room dimensions, and architectural elements.
Renderings are intended as design visualizations rather than architectural reproductions, so some details and proportions may be simplified or vary slightly.
Furniture will be selected with consideration for room dimensions, flow, and paths of travel. Furniture dimensions should always be verified by the buyer prior to purchasing, along with any necessary delivery clearances.
2. Will you incorporate our materials into the designs, including flooring, hardware, faucets, lighting, and paint colors?
Yes. I will incorporate your selected materials into the design and can also provide recommendations for simple upgrades where appropriate.
Renderings may vary slightly from the actual materials but will reflect the overall color, style, and aesthetic for visualization purposes.
3. Do you offer a separate new-build selection consultation for hardware, lighting, cabinet details, millwork, flooring, etc.?
Yes, I offer builder selection services. Because this involves coordination across the entire home and multiple finish categories, it would be completed as a separate Phase 1 prior to the furnishing phase and quoted separately.
4. Where do you source your product recommendations from?
I source from a wide range of retailers and am constantly looking for new stores, makers, and designers that fit each client’s budget and aesthetic.
Common sources include Crate & Barrel, CB2, Lulu & Georgia, Quince, H&M Home, Zara Home, IKEA, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Amazon, Target, Walmart, Anthropologie, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, craft retailers, and wholesale faux floral suppliers.
5. How many furniture and decor items are typically included in each room’s product list, and will major items include a range of price points?
The number of product categories and recommendations per category varies based on the scope, space, and client goals.
For a standard living room Complete Design package, I typically provide 4+ options within major categories such as seating, entertainment/storage pieces, lighting, area rugs, accent tables, coffee tables or ottomans, and window treatments (curtains only; blind sourcing is not included). Decorative accessories such as wall decor, vases, trays, and artwork typically include 5-7 links total.
Sourcing is tailored to the client’s overall budget and goals. Product recommendations generally include a range of price points, including opportunities to save or splurge, along with notes to help guide selections.
For example, a room with a $3,000 target furnishing budget might have a total product range of approximately $2,500–$4,000 if all lowest- or highest-priced options were selected. A mix of selections should generally land near the target budget.
6. How are product substitutions handled if items are sold out or links expire?
If a recommended product goes out of stock, I am happy to provide an alternate option at no additional charge for 30 days following final design delivery.
After 30 days, replacement sourcing is available for $25 per item.
7. What is your typical turnaround time?
For individual rooms within the Concept or Complete Design packages, clients can generally expect Round 1 within 5 business days per room, followed by 2–3 business days for revisions and final Round 2 delivery.
Custom, multi-room, and whole-home project timelines vary based on scope and will be established prior to the start of the project.
I will always communicate in advance if I anticipate a delay.
8. When is a room considered open concept versus separate spaces?
This is determined on a case-by-case basis and generally depends on the amount of sourcing and number of renderings needed across the connected spaces.
When connected areas can be effectively designed and communicated together—with overlap in sourcing or fewer renderings required—they may qualify for open-concept pricing.

Project Intake: Through my design form or a phone consultation, I’ll ask a few questions to understand your style, goals, and needs for each space. You’ll provide photos of the space, inspiration images, measurements, floor plans, and any other relevant details. We’ll align on the best design package for your project, and I’ll provide a corresponding timeline.
Invoicing: Once you’re ready to move forward, I’ll send an invoice via your preferred payment method.
Design Begins: I’ll begin developing your design by gathering additional inspiration, exploring concepts tailored to your goals, creating custom renderings, and identifying general furniture and decor direction. Specific shoppable product links are provided in Round 2.
Round 1 Delivery: I’ll deliver your initial design concept(s) for review. You’ll provide consolidated feedback on the overall direction, furniture styles, palette, and other design elements.
Included Revision + Round 2: One round of revisions is included between round 1 and round 2. Using your Round 1 feedback, I’ll refine the selected concept, palettes, layouts, etc., and source specific products within your desired budget. The revised design and product selections will be delivered as your final Round 2.
Additional Revisions: Any revisions requested after final Round 2 delivery are considered additional revisions and are billed separately. Questions, clarifications, or corrections to errors in the final design are always addressed at no additional charge and do not count as a revision.
Final Delivery & Follow-Up: I’ll deliver your completed design presentation along with applicable product links and recommendations. If a recommended product becomes unavailable within 30 days of final delivery, I’ll provide a replacement option at no additional charge. After 30 days, replacement sourcing is available for $25 per item.

Interior Furnishing & Styling:
Design Packages are offered at a fixed price per room, starting at $250. Pricing is based on the complexity of the space, including the level of rendering required and the number of furniture and accessories to be sourced.
Spaces such as mudrooms, pantries, entryways, kitchens, and bathrooms generally fall toward the lower end of the pricing range, while living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and bonus rooms typically require more extensive sourcing and design development and are priced accordingly.
Kitchen and dining spaces may be treated as an open-concept space on a case-by-case basis, allowing for pricing efficiencies when fewer renderings or less product sourcing is needed across the two areas.
Single Room: Starting at $250
Open Concept (multiple spaces within one room): Starting at $350Additional Design Revisions
One round of revisions is included with each room package.
Additional revision rounds start at $25 per room for minor updates, such as color or alternate product. More extensive revisions will be priced separately.
Additional product sourcing: After 30 days from delivery, replacement products will have a $25 sourcing fee per item.

Option 1: Pay by Room
Payment is made one room at a time. Full payment for each room is due prior to beginning design work. Once that room is complete, payment for the next room is due before work begins on that space.Option 2: Full Project
Clients may choose to pay for the full project scope upfront in one consolidated payment.Payment Methods
Venmo is the preferred payment method. PayPal and credit/debit card payment through Squarespace are also available upon request. -
Payment
Payment is due according to the payment structure selected for the project and prior to the start of applicable design work.
Communication
Communication will take place primarily through email or text unless otherwise preferred by client.
Timeline
Delivery timelines begin once all required measurements, photos, questionnaires, and other requested information have been received. I will let you know if more information is needed to begin.
Revisions
One round of revisions is included with each room package unless otherwise specified. Additional revision rounds are billed separately.
Purchasing
Clients are responsible for purchasing all recommended furnishings, finishes, and materials unless otherwise agreed upon.
Measurements
The accuracy of furniture layouts and recommendations depends on the accuracy of measurements and information provided by the client and builder. Clients should always verify measurements for furniture or other items before purchase, though the designer will make every effort to select furnishings with regard to the measurements of the space.
Renderings
Renderings are intended to communicate design intent and may not perfectly represent final colors, finishes, lighting conditions, or product dimensions (but will be as close as possible). Design packages typically include renderings of one-angle per room, rather than individual renderings of each wall. Additional renderings can be purchased if requested.
Photography & Portfolio
Nice Light Studio reserves the right to use project renderings, mood boards, and photographs of completed spaces for portfolio, website, and social media purposes upon completion or while the project is in progress. Only last names will be shared in portfolio sharing, such as “Anderson Playroom”. If requested, the last name can be altered so that no identifying information is shared.
Cancellation
If a single room design is cancelled after payment is received and work has been started, that single room is nonrefundable.
If a multi-room project paid in full upfront is canceled after work has begun, any refund will be calculated based on the percentage of the project completed at the time of cancellation (e.g., 60% project completion would result in a 40% refund).
Scope Changes
Requests outside the agreed-upon scope may require an updated proposal or additional fees. Designer will document scope changes for client approval before work begins on the additional scope.
Virtual design services, while convenient, have some limitations. Clients should always verify virtual design recommendations for their own spaces, such as double checking measurements of proposed products and viewing recommend paint colors in their actual room to ensure accuracy. Real life light sources, the direction a room faces, etc. have a large impact on how a color reads in-person.
